RVFD App · Screen board
The app has not been changed. The left column is the app as it runs in the simulator today; the right column is the proposal, drawn at the same 402 × 874.
Today · 6 tabs
Admin is a settings area occupying a field slot, and it duplicates rows that already exist in the Settings sheet behind the gear.
Proposed · 4 tabs + gear
Four places a firefighter works, plus one gear on every header for the things nobody works in.
Same screen position, different job. Today answers "what needs doing", not "here is every card we have".
Home. Weather, restriction, SPC, roads, sign-in, four links, IRPG, Department SOPs. Reference sits below the fold on the screen everyone opens first.
Today. Status strip, then the three actions a member actually opens the app to do. No reference cards in the scroll.
FOG and Apparatus stay reachable in one tap from Reference, because they are the two big tiles. Hazmat, IRPG, SOPs and Manuals stop being cards hidden inside another library.
FOG. IRPG and Hazmat are cards at the top of the FOG list, so both tools look like FOG features. Apparatus is a separate tab with the same status.
Reference. One index, one search field, one door per tool. The two most-used libraries keep the largest targets on the screen.
A truck check and the equipment manuals are not properties of a rig page. They move to the rig row, and to a Today action, instead of sitting under every pump-ops step.
Expanded rig. Four folder tabs, Read Aloud, every step, and only then Truck Checks and Ask the Manuals. Reaching them means expanding the card and scrolling past the procedure.
Apparatus. Each rig row carries its own Check, Manuals and Status targets. The pump-ops tabs are still one tap deeper, unchanged.
The dispatch card, crew scan, the accountability board and the whole report queue share one screen today. Split into three panes, an officer reaches the board without scrolling past drafts.
Incident. One scroll holding dispatch, the board, and four report sections. The board competes with the report queue for the same column.
Incident. Three panes, one job each. Board holds roster and PAR; Reports holds uploads, syncs, ready, drafts, submitted. A member sees Dispatch only.
Today the gear opens a sheet, and the Admin tab opens a different settings area. One destination, reached the same way from every header.
Settings sheet. An X in the top left, no back chevron. For an officer it also chains to three more sheets: pipeline, manual ingestion, radio shutdown. Signed out, the Department rows are absent.
Settings. Pushed, chevron on the left, no tab bar. Department is admin-only and holds what the Admin tab held. Everything below it is what the sheet already had.
Cutting every app user off the hall node is an emergency action. It belongs on the radio screen, not two levels inside Settings.
Radio. Monitor and push-to-talk. The officer's kill switch is not on this screen; it is three taps into Settings.
Radio. Same screen, plus the shutdown where the radio is, behind a confirm. Members never see that row. The safety state machine is untouched.
Option A this board, four tabs. Option B keep FOG as its own tab, five tabs, apply only the entry-point and way-out fixes. Pick one and I start with routing alone.
